Week 3 Notes, Homework and Videos

NOTE 1:  ALL TRAINING SHOULD BE DONE WITH TRAINING COLLAR AND TRAINING LEASH ON . NOTE 2:   DO NOT LEAVE METAL TRAINING COLLAR OR TRAINING SLIP LEAD ON WHEN YOU ARE NOT ACTIVELY TRAINING YOUR DOG. NOTE 3:  PLEASE PUT ON YOUR METAL TRAINING COLLAR CORRECTLY.  ALSO BE SURE TO HOLD THE LEASH CORRECTLY. Week 3 Bathroom Schedule

  7:55 am poop and pee (could be 9 am if you sleep in) 12:00 pm pee and possible poop 3:00 pm pee and possible poop 4:45 pm pee (then feed) 5:05 pm I just check in case she missed it due to being excited about dinner 7:40 pm pee and probable poop 9:00 pm pee and maybe poop (especially if she did not do it at 7:40 pm) Note:  the last time she goes out she may not have to poop and I haven't been having a problem with her sleeping through the night.

Week 3 Using Common Training Commands to Influence Behavior

  Many dog owners, who have trained their dogs, do not realize the tools for working on many dog behaviors that are problems to them are the repetitive use of training commands themselves. The ability to use these commands repetitively in different situations can help build the types of reactions that dog owners prefer from their dogs in many situations.     Here are some common dog training issues and the commands (trained well) that can help your dog know what you want in certain situations:     NOTE: ALL OF THESE ARE ASSUMING YOU ARE IN SIGHT AND SUPERVISING THE DOG     ISSUE: MY DOG COUNTER SURFS OR BEGS AT THE DINNER TABLE     Let's go (which is an informal type of recall) or recall (come command) away from the counter to you.   Also, a back or go command can be used if you are in the counter area.   A place and or down stay command can be used to station the dog away from the area.   There are also other options that ...
